CREATING A GROUP WITH JUST ONE LINE

I am trying to create a short, straight section of fence. When I draw a single line, I am unable to create a group. If I draw two segments to create the line, I can create a group, but I end up with posts very close together. How do I create a group with one line or eliminate the middle post? Thanks.

Hi Chuck i need your help, never had a problem before.

I get this message after triying to make a fence.

"the value of the ' InputSU ' property is null or not defined , it is not a function object"

I have 2 Sketchup's installed.

No Wooden Railings

Hello,
I'm running into an issue with running the Instant Fence Script. I can get the glass railings options to work, but not wood railings. I'm using SKP 8 pro. I've grouped the linework and select wood railings. I've tried multiple wood railing presets and double checked the perimeters to make sure the options are checked. I only get the top rails, middle/lower rails, as well as posts. No balusters. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

New Railing Style - Style Icon saves as a wireframe image

When I go into the Manage Styles section to save a new railing style the new Style Icon that gets created always gets saved as a wireframe style image. I'd like it simply to look as the view that I've chosen. It seems to be overriding somewhere. Whatever I select as view, it just seems to product a wireframe image.

Is there something I'm missing? I've created a few styles so far and all of them have same issue.

Saving multiple styles

I was hoping that I could create and save my own style railings, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Is this not possible?

assigning materials not working...

Hi, great script! However, I can't assign any materials once I set a type that I want use, it says "no materials" but no option to select anything else so the final group output comes out a single color. How to fix this? Thanks

wrong posts position

if I make a railing
the posts are positioned centrally on the line (group) and I can not see the side bracket because the bracket is on the inside of the balcony plate.
which parameters should I change?

Installation

I'm at a loss. I am trying to install Instant Fence and Railing on a brand new install of Sketchup 2014. I'm following the instructions and find that:
There is no Plugins folder under the Sketchup 2014 Program Files (Step 2 under .ZIP Installation) So I made a Plugins folder and copied the instantfence.rb file to it (as the instructions state)
I open Sketchup 2014, there is no Plugins pull down menu as specified in the instructions.
I tried downloading the files again today with the same result.

Can you assist me with this?

Can I create a dog eared privacy fence where each plank has a 2 inch overlap? If not, the value of this plugin drops precipitously for me.

How do I create an open shape as a group?

I'm brand new to Sketchup, so the following makes no sense to me- Instant Fence seems to require an open shape converted to a Group in order to create the fence. In Sketchup, every time I try to create a Group from an open shape, it draws lines to close the shape. If this is the case, how is it even possible to make a basic fence?
